Saturday in the Lotto Arena the draw was made for the third edition of the European Open. A first big headline will be the confrontation between Ruben Bemelmans (ATP-108) and the Frenchman Gaël Monfils (ATP-37) in the first round.
It was tournament director Dick Norman and Bemelmans himself who played for innocent hand. “It will be an fascinating encounter”, Bemel said with a wink about his first round match.
Another promising match will be the one between the spaniard Feliciano Lopez and the American wildcard Frances Tiafoe.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga will start defending his title against the Argentinian player Guido Pella.
Belgian youngster Zizou Bergs (ATP-399) will play his first qualification match this Sunday against the young Canadian Next Gen talent Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP-128). It promises to be a spectacular match, and Zizou will be supported by the Biggest Fan Corner ever created for a qualification match.
The match will be played from 4.30 pm and tickets are still available, online and at the Lotto Arena.
