This morning, the Belgian top double duo Sander Gillé and Joran Vliegen paid a surprise visit to the children at the hospital of AZ Monica in Antwerp. The two tennis stars didn’t only put a big smile on the faces of the young kids, they also made time for a friendly chat and brought some presents with them.
Gillé and Vliegen didn’t go to the hospital empty-handed. In addition to an unforgettable experience, every child received a goodie bag full of European Open surprises. “It was a unique experience,” Gillé stated afterwards. “We hope that our visit has brought some variety and joy to the day of the children and we do wish them all a speedy recovery.”
“For the tournament, we are highly motivated to achieve a strong result in Antwerp. It’s a great feeling for us to have the opportunity to play in front of our friends, family and Belgian fans this week after traveling so many months abroad.”
