Goffin already had to withdraw from the Tokyo and Shanghai. The Belgian will now also the European Open and the rest of the season. “Unfortunately, the pain on my right elbow has worsened recently and I am suffering from a bone edema. I need at least a month to recover, which means that I have to end my season. I am very disappointed that I will miss the European Open and I apologize to the organization and to all my fans.”

The European Open, still the only ATP 250-tournament in Belgium, can still count on top players like Diego Schwartzman (ATP-14), Kyle Edmund (ATP-16), Gael Monfils (ATP-39) and Ruben Bemelmans (ATP-108), who will defend the Belgian honor in the Lotto Arena.
