Strong qualifications entry list with familiar faces and 5 top 8 Next Gen players

Antwerp, 30 September 2021 – This year’s European Open will have again a classy entry list for the main draw. The entry list for the qualifications draw is very strong too with players like Kevin Anderson, Lorenzo Musetti and Botic van de Zandschulp to name a few. “At the moment, 5 out of the top 8 Next Gen players will come to the European Open. So get ready to be blown away by this year’s talent”, dixit Tournament Director Dick Norman.

The South-African player Kevin Anderson (ATP 69), will play the qualifications of the European Open. Anderson played the final of the US Open in 2017 and of Wimbledon in 2018. Other European Open qualification players include Lorenzo Musetti (ATP 61), Jenson Brooksby (ATP 79) and Brandon Nakashima (ATP 83) who are in the running for the ATP Next Gen Finals in Milan next November.

“Together with Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP 11) and Jannik Sinner (ATP 14), who will play in the main draw, the European Open has 5 out of the 8 top Next Gen players competing in the main draw or qualifications draw”, Tournament Director Dick Norman reveals. “Jan-Lennard Struff (ATP 53) and Peter Gojowczyk (ATP 87) played the European Open before and will again be present in the Lotto Arena. It is an honor to welcome them back.”
