We are proud to announce that Zizou Bergs, one of Belgium’s most promising tennis talents, will once again return to make his appearance at the European Open (13- 20 October 2024). After an impressive year in which he won several challenger tournaments and put in a great performance at Roland Garros, Bergs returns to the tournament where he already impressed. “We are extremely happy to welcome Zizou to the European Open again”, said tournament director Dick Norman.
Bergs, currently world number 85, has shown this year why he is considered a rising star in the world of tennis. Under the guidance of Ruben Bemelmans, Zizou also made it to the third round of Roland Garros where he eventually lost to Bulgarian top-ten player Dimitrov. Because of his performances, Bergs was also selected to take part in the Olympics for Belgium.
Zizou Bergs is no stranger to the European Open. Bergs already reached twice the main draw in Antwerp. Each time he managed to charm the audience with his dynamic game, incredible passion and some legendary matches. This year will not be different. His return is therefore eagerly expected by fans and tennis experts everywhere.
